Esther Eichner Moszkowicz (September 16,1935 – July 7, 2018) Beloved wife of the late Abraham Moszkowicz of 61 years. Dear mother of Frida (Stuart) Wilson, Helen (Stanley) Spinner, and Fay (Edward) Sher. Treasured grandmother of Gabriel (Erin) Wilson, Joseph (Emily) Spinner, Shaun Spinner, Katherine (Jared) Sher-Serota, Samuel (Tess) Wilson, and Alexander (Sarah Capungcol) Sher. Great grandmother of Benjamin, Hannah, and John Joseph. Cherished aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend to many.
Esther was a life member of Temple Beth El (Brownsville, Texas) it’s Sisterhood and Hadassah before moving to Houston, where she was a member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun. She spent many hours volunteering as a Sunday and Hebrew school teacher in Brownsville. She also helped many children learn to read in the Ready Reader program in the Brownsville area.
Esther was an avid knitter and took great joy in creating items for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to play Mah Jong and enjoyed participating in weekly games in Brownsville and Houston.
Graveside services will be held Monday July 9, 2018 at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Nightly Shiva will be held at Congregation Beth Yeshurun.
Memorial contributions preferred to Temple Beth El (Brownsville, Texas), Congregation Beth Yeshurun, Seven Acres or a charity of your choice.
Esther’s family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Houston Hospice, St. Dominic Village and Seven Acres for all their support and care.
